This is relatively common in relation to other varieties among 1799 half eagles, however, is quite scarce overall and is rated Rarity-5. This is a separate type coin with just four berries in the branch. All other 1799 varieties have five berries in the branch. This is a different reverse die than the one found at HBCC-3056, also with just four berries. In some series of coins, separate listings exist in the Guide Book for four berries and five berries reverse dies.

Purchased from Rowe and Brownlee, May 17, 1970.

Commentary:
"Obverse: Star 1 quite far from curl. Not clashed. Cracks very faint. Reverse: That of 1798E. Very small stars. Two four star alignments in straight lines."
