According to Walter Breen in his 1966 monograph, this die marriage is quite rare. Breen rated this as Rarity-7 and stated he had only seen two or three examples. Harry Bass acquired two examples of this marriage for his collection, both of very similar quality. The variety currently probably qualifies only as Rarity-6. This is another example with small date and small stars on the obverse and larger stars on the reverse. This obverse die was only used for this marriage, with the reverse in a later die state than HBCC-3106.

Provenance:
From Abner Kreisberg's sale of November 1972, Lot 1154.

Commentary:
"Obverse: Bust right. Small date, spaced 1 8 07. Large stars. Lowest hair curls are complete. Top of 1 is very close to bottom of curl, but does not touch. Very faint crack thru left side of upright of B into front of cap. Lowest point of star 1 touches denticle (diagnostic). Edge ding over LI. Reverse: Large stars. Leaf point touches right base of I(C). A diagonal spine runs from this leaf point across lower half of I(C). Rust lump in field to left of top of T(A). Crack from bottom left serif of N across arrow heads to junction of shield and right wing, thru top right point of shield, thru stars 12, 7, between stars 1 and 2, into second cloud from left."
